Request Account Deletion

We're sorry to see you go. To protect your account security, deletion requests must be submitted via email so our team can verify your identity before processing.

How to delete your account

Account deletion is processed manually to protect against unauthorised requests. Follow the three steps below to submit your request.

Send an email to our support team
Compose an email to support@dreamtrade.app with the subject line Account Delete Request. You can use the pre-filled button below to open your email client automatically.

Include the required information
Provide your full name, registered email address, phone number, and a brief reason for deletion. We need this to verify your identity and locate your account.

Wait for confirmation
Our team will confirm receipt within 2 business days and begin processing your request. You will receive a final confirmation email once your account has been deleted.

Required information

For us to verify your identity and process your deletion request, your email must include the following:

Please include all of the following in your email:

  • Account Full Name — The full name registered on your Dream Trade profile.
  • Account Email Address — The email address associated with your account.
  • Account Phone Number — The phone number linked to your account.
  • Reason for Deletion — A brief explanation of why you wish to delete your account.

Requests that cannot be verified will not be processed. Ensure the email is sent from the address registered on your account, or explicitly state your registered email in the message body.

What happens to your data

Once your identity is verified and your request is approved, we will permanently delete your account and associated personal data. However, as a SEC-registered financial platform subject to Nigerian law, certain records must be retained.

Retained for legal compliance
  • KYC identity documents (5 years)
  • BVN verification records
  • Transaction & trade history
  • AML monitoring records
  • SEC reporting data

Retained data is kept solely to meet obligations under the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022 and Nigeria SEC rules. It is not used for marketing or shared beyond what is legally required. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Processing timeline

We aim to acknowledge all deletion requests within 2 business days and complete the deletion process within 30 days of identity verification. You will receive a confirmation email at each stage.
